Biography
Mark Buza, an educator and marching band director for the Johnson City Central School District in New York State, loves to teach. Mark also loves music and the popular Broadway song "With A Song In My Heart" by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart, is the philosophical approach he takes with it.

A musician, arranger, producer, and musical director, Mark has been involved with music since the age of 10. He began his career playing saxophone and as time progressed he learned to also play clarinet, flute, and keyboards. In addition to doing studio recordings for his own projects, Mark has also recorded for corporations and industries on commercial radio. Mark's talented musicianship is complemented by his accomplished arranging abilities. With over 200 arrangements to his credit, Mark has arranged for school and church groups, professional music groups and also for his own band The Buza Express which over the years has developed into the name of The Mark Buza Orchestra. Mark has had several of his arrangements published by Syntony Publishing Company, Crete, Ill. Mark is proud of his orchestra, a 12 piece group, which features some of the finest musicians in the Binghamton, New York area. The Mark Buza Orchestra has performed many styles of music including Jazz, Pop, Broadway, Patriotic, Big Band and Polka. Since 1995 the Buza Orchestra has done four albums for BriarHill Records, an independent label owned and operated by Colonel Danny Mack of Crete, Illinois. The music of The Mark Buza Orchestra has been played by radio stations throughout the nation as well as on radio programs in foreign countries.

Mark's first album, "A Christmas Celebration" features The Mark Buza Orchestra with vocals by Swing Street Station, a vocal group from the Binghamton area. One song from the album "We Wish You A Merry Polka Christmas" broke some ground by making the Top 20 Independent Country Christmas Songs (based on reports from over 200 radio stations across the country) for December 16-30, 1995.

Mark teamed up with Danny Mack and The BriarHill Singers to produce an album called "What's More American?". To emphasize Mark's "Song In Your Heart" approach, a reviewer from the September 1996 edition of Songwriter's Monthly wrote: "Anyone who doesn't get a chill from this album should be tested to make sure they have a beating heart...... this album will make your heart smile". In November of 1996, the C.M.A.A. awarded "What's More American?" as The Best Patriotic Song Of The Year. "What's More American?" made the Top 10 Listener's Choice Recordings of 1996 for WPNA Radio in Chicago, Illinois. In February of 1997, "What's More American?" was used as a soundtrack on a TV show from Lyndenhurst, N.J.. The focus of the show was on the heroes of the Revolutionary War and was produced by Kathy Stahl.

"Bridging The Gap With Polka Music" was Mark's third project teaming again with Danny Mack. The album also includes the vocals of Melliphony, from Binghamton, New York. The release of the album was in January 1998. The recording features original Polkas and also popular Broadway and Patriotic selections. Mark's talents blend dramatically with the casual stylings of his partner and friend Danny Mack.

"When I Dance A Polka" is Mark's fourth release on the BriarHill Records label. The album features a mix of contemporary originals and old standards which should suit the tastes of most any listener. The album features The Mark Buza Orchestra, the BriarHill Singers, and special guest Danny Mack.

"Because It's Christmas" is the fifth release by The Mark Buza Orchestra. It is a CD packed with traditional and contemporary Christmas songs to stir every emotion, and is sure to warm the heart of any listener. From the bright and snappy strains of "Sights and Sounds of Christmas", to the lively rendition of "Holly Jolly Christmas", to the powerhouse tear jerker "Because It's Christmas", this collection has it all.

In early 2002, The Mark Buza Orchestra recorded a CD single with Danny Mack called "Elvis Loved To Polka". Also on the CD was a medley of "Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace" and "Let There Be Peace On Earth". Both Tunes received extensive air play and the Elvis song went over big in the south.

Mark is a voting member of N.A.R.A.S. (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) and a member of B.M.I. (Broadcast Music Incorporated).
